Returning the Nails: Conviction

The Returning the Nails series

It is a sad commentary on human history that through the ages the values of power and violence have been granted more importance than those of beauty and love. In the Middle East a couple of millennia ago, more valuable than even gold was iron, the metal of war. Even the smelting of it was a tightly controlled state secret.

It is not unthinkable to suppose that, according to the government of the time, nobody got free iron nails. Not even the ones used to nail your son to the cross.

Impression of the Crucifixion shaped into the casting between the feet of the figure.
