First American artist invited to exhibit solo at Russia’s Hermitage Museum.
“There are several artists who in my opinion are not the best. It is better to find other artists, masters like Tim Holmes who are perhaps not that well known but whose work is interesting and groundbreaking.”
– Sergey Androsov, Hermitage sculpture curator

Sculpture
Struggle and hope are our human theme
Holmes is known for creating international awards. Most of his work is inspired by the human body. A few images are available of the hundreds he’s created. Contact us for info.
Metaphysical Maps
Maps of internal journeys. Every map by nature is at once precise and biased; it’s for us to determine how.
The Metaphysical Maps combine the precision aesthetics of antique maps with the looseness of abstract expressionist painting. These detailed and seemingly accurate charts of internal experiences expose a messy reality that lends itself to nothing like precision!
Painting
A curious look at a wonderfully dynamic world.
We project much of ourselves into the images that move us. In this wild painting it is what is not clear that is most evocative. Holmes paintings cover a wide range of intentions and styles, revolving around beauty of the world and the mysteries of human life.
Drawings / Prints
Drawings immediately crystalize the fleeting notion.
The waking moment brings the world into soft focus and all is in flux for a spell. We might even choose to come into a new being and live differently. Thousands of Holmes drawings span figurative studies, designs for art projects, sketches of lands and peoples, etc. Some images have been reproduced as very limited edition prints.
Social Art Stories
Holmes’ world-spanning projects and social art ideas
Each project imagines a new vision of a hopeful future. Art is the medicine that can heal a troubled world.
